Flat Free Wheels

Casters of Amarillo, Inc offers 10″ flat free wheels for hand trucks.  These heavy duty industrial flat free wheels have a 2-1/4″ hub length with 5/8″ sealed precision bearings – 3/4″ shielded radial bearings are also available.  Comparable to a 410/3.50-4 wheel assembly, this “air-free” wheel is ideal for hand trucks and garden carts.  Load capacity is 375 lbs per wheel.

Flat Free wheels are an alternative to pneumatic wheels, allowing the same characteristics as pneumatic wheels except they never go flat.  Flat Free wheels are manufactured from closed cell micro cellular polyurethane foam which offers the same advantages of pneumatic wheels without the possibility of air loss. These wheels provide shock load protection and a smooth cushioned ride, rolling easily over debris and small obstacles.

Casters of Amarillo, Inc offers a full line of top quality industrial wheels for many applications.  We have a range of wheels that are suitable for general duty to extremely heavy duty. Wheel types that can accommodate harsh conditions or high impact and/or temperature sensitive applications are available.  The wheels we provide work well for manufacturing, warehousing, food processing and institutional use.  With load capacities ranging from 70 lbs to 20,000 lbs.  When you are in need of top quality wheels, allow our knowledgeable staff  to assist.  You can always count on Casters of Amarillo, Inc for your mobility needs.

Steel wheels feature a high weight capacity with effortless rolling under heavy loads. They are abrasion resistant and is a long wearing wheel choice for industrial and commercial applications. The wheel face (tread) and hub length are both machine finished. Sizes range from 2” to 12” in diameter and 1” to 3” wide. Load capacities are available up to 2500 pounds. Temperature range is -45° to 600°F.
Ductile Steel wheels are a combination of special alloys that give it higher weight capacities than semi steel wheels and is more economical than drop forged steel. It is also referred to as malleable iron. The material may flex rather than crack or break when submitted to an extreme shock load.  Extra thick walled, heavy-duty core, hub & tread face. Sizes range from 4” to 14” in diameter and 1-1/2” to 3” wide. Load capacities are available up to 10,000 pounds. Precision & tapered bearings maximize mobility and performance in towing and severe use environments.

Rubber Wheels

blog6Rubber tread that is molded to a cast-iron, aluminum or polyolefin core. Sizes range from 3” to 18” in diameter and 1-1/2” to 3” wide. Load capacities are available up to 2000 pounds. Our tread features special bonding to insure long life and non-separation. These wheels are highly shock-absorbing, offering maximum load protection and quiet movement. A grease fitting is installed into the wheel hub on all wheels 4” diameter and above. Common applications include, stock carts, platform trucks, hand trucks and refuse disposal bins.

Mold-on rubber wheels have vulcanized rubber tread molded to a heavy duty cast iron core. Offering a shock absorbing semi-cushioned ride, rolling easily over small debris, rough floors, cracks, floor joints, etc.

Thermo-pro wheels have non-marking Thermoplastic rubber tread that is permanently bonded to a Polyolefin core. Shock absorbing cushioned ride offers floor protection and quiet rolling operation.

Rubber mold-on aluminum wheels have vulcanized rubber tread bonded to an aluminum core. This wheel offers a shock absorbing & cushioned ride. Rolling over debris, allowing for floor protection & quiet rolling operation.

Environmentally friendly ECO-RUBBER™ wheels are made from recycled rubber tires, molded to plastic cores. This solid rubber tread offers many of the same advantages of pneumatic tires, without the possibility of going flat. These rubber wheels provide excellent shock load protection and the smooth cushioned ride rolls easily over debris and small obstacles. With a wide soft tread face it is ideal for rolling on grass, sand or dirt.

Polyurethane Wheels

With capacities ranging from 70 to 7,000 pounds, the polyurethane wheels we provide work well for manufacturing, warehousing, food processing, hospitals, automotive and institutional use.

Our tread is chemically bonded to insure long life and non-separation. These wheels are highly recommended, offering protection for almost any type of floor. A grease fitting is installed into the wheel hub on most polyurethane wheels, 4” diameter and above. Common applications include, stock carts, platform trucks, job boxes and tool boxes.

Polyurethane elastomer tread is chemically bonded.
Offers higher weight capacities while providing good floor protection and quiet rolling operation.
Optional precision ball bearings and tapered roller bearings require less effort to start up and maintain a rolling load also generating less friction heat and may prolong the life of the wheel.
Works well in both indoor and outdoor environments, however, a cast iron core can rust. If this is an issue, look at using aluminum or polyolefin core wheels.

Pneumatic and Flat-Free Wheels

Pneumatic and Flat-Free WheelsPneumatic wheels have many benefits in industrial caster applications.  The main benefit is the ability to absorb shock loads from impacts and cushion the load.

With proper inflation, our wheels are suitable for extended service. Pneumatic wheels include tire, tube and a centered or offset rim/hub assembly. Centered hubs are designed for mounting into casters and equipment. Offset hubs are available for use on hand trucks and portable equipment. A variety of bearing types and sizes are also available.
